Shymkent's network of roads and streets is one of the longest in Kazakhstan. It is also worth noting that the transcontinental highway corridor 'Western Europe – Western China' runs along the city of Shymkent.

Population

The city has a population of over one million and is one of the three largest cities in Kazakhstan. Many specialists who come from other regions and countries during project implementation choose to stay in Shymkent for permanent residence.
